Oui! Oui! Ooh la la!

We are in Paris! We had such a fun adventure just getting from the train station to the place we are staying in Paris. Our hosts had given us the inside tip via email that bus no 46 goes directly to their street from the Gare du Nord (North Station where we arrived via the Eurostar from London). we let them know what time we were arriving and they said they'd be home when we got there. When I was last connected to wifi this morning at the flat in London, I thought well enough to write down that bus number. Yay for me! We walked around the station and eventually found the correct bus stop where the bus we wanted going in the direction we wanted would stop. I was super impressed with us right there. THEN, we managed to figure out that we could buy the ticket on the bus, but it was a better price if we could buy a book of them from a shop. So, Todd went in search of one such shop while Josh and I waited at the bus stop. And then the bus no 46 came. And went. Thankfully Todd came back with the tickets before the next bus no 46 came and went. We got on for the ride - standing room only, but we all three like to hang- and even got off at the right stop. Well, dang, once we got off and we were in a much bigger neighborhood than I imagined, I realized that I did not make note of the ACTUAL ADDRESS of where we were staying, only remembered it was Rue Faidherbe. Long story short, it stinks being without internet at our fingertips because we are so used to just keeping info on our phones. At this point we were about an hour later arriving than we thought we would be and we didn't have wifi to get what we needed (the house number) or to call our hosts. We found a little cafe (imagine that?!) and got some wifi as well as a beautiful plat du charcuterie and fromage (that's meat and cheese for you folks back home) for a song. Turns out we were dining directly across the street from our little cozy airBnB! We met our hosts (Richard and Isabelle) and spent a little time getting to know each other. After that, it was off to find the Metro and the Eiffel Tower! Oh my goodness, the Eiffel Tower is magnificent! We went all the way to the top and climbed the stairs down just as the lights were coming on. Such amazing views of Paris! Josh has been such a sport today, really he loves the adventures much like we do. Oh and we all love crepes!
